FIRST CLINICAL STUDY
A minimum of 4 weeks may be required to reach a steady state serum bicarbonate concentration when a change in buffer concentration is made .
For many patients, bicarbonate concentration of 33 mmol /L in a PD solution may be inadequate to maintain normal acid-base balance in CAPD patients.
Pain on infusion, possibly related to high pCO2 levels, in some patients.
New formulation with a higher bicarbonate concentration and lower pCO2 should be evaluated.
