Conclusion
PD patients in fasting state, the moderate hyperinsulinemia (using Dextrose only) causes an antiproteolyitic action that is obscured by a parallel decrease in AA availability for PS
Conversely, the combined use of Dextrose+AA results in a cumulative effect, due to the suppression of endogenous muscle PB (insulin) and the stimulation of muscle PS (AA availability)
The hypothesis is that in PD, when fasting or when nutrient intake is reduced, muscle mass could be maintained by the combined use of dextrose and AA
