Dear Dr. Hoffmann,
Greetings from India.
I find MPGN distinctly rare in my centre. I can recall not more than 5 instances out of more than 400 renal biopsies since 1992. This is quite contrast to what I witnessed as a trainee in Madras when MPGN would be high on the list of DD for glomerular disease with HT, active sediments and low C3. Now it is DPGN most of the time. The place I practice now is 400 miles south of Madras. Now, is this part of a general trend or a geographical variation? With infections rampant here, I don’t see why the incidence of MPGN be lower in my place. (Biopsy materials were studied in the same centre in Madras)
Thanks.
