PVM -- Parallel Virtual Machine

PVM has an excellent Linux port, and is fully standard. It is also the non-official parallel programming standard. It can be used in the most of the languages, including Fortran. Maybe PVM is somewhat slow, but it is easy to learn and use. All programs that use PVM are directly executables in parallel fashion in Beowulf and Mosix clusters.
